By Law360, San Diego (October 14, 2011, 7:30 PM EDT) -- The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said Friday that nine of its judges will take part in a 10-year pilot program aimed at building judicial expertise in patent disputes. The New York court and 13 other federal courts were picked in June by the director of the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts to participate in the initiative, which is designed to make complex patent litigation more efficient by steering cases to judges who have an interest in them.
